Kaitlynn + Jeff | The Hilton Pearl River, NY Wedding

Some couples steal a little piece of your heart and you just wish their wedding day would never have to end so you can keep working with them forever. These two beautiful souls were definitely one of those couples… and not only because they both quoted The Office in their vows… they had been a dream to work with from Day 1 and when the pandemic took over, they took it all in graceful strides.
Their original wedding date was May 29 and they held out for a long time, but ultimately chose to postpone to late summer. When things still did not improve and the restrictions and guest counts for NY weddings did not increase, they didn’t stress it. They just believed that this was the way things were meant to be and they embraced it as best they could. I’ve said it so many times; at its core a wedding is about two people promising forever to each other. And their day was exactly that, their love was shining; they laughed, they loved, they spent quality time with all 50 people in the room. Each person was so over-joyed to be there and celebrating with them. Both of their families were the kindest, sweetest people and many shared toasts and stories about the couple. I believe it was mentioned during one that it felt funny that they were only just getting married because they had already been considering them family for so many years… and that is the best part of two people finding their perfectly fitting other half.

It was not the wedding they had planned, but it was such a beautiful day and my heart is full of so much gratitude for getting to be a part of it!

I also have to commend the couple, the Hilton Pearl River and all the vendors involved on the day-of for doing a TREMENDOUS job at wearing masks and making certain that everyone was kept safe, healthy and distanced, and for having lots of hand sanitizer easily available!

Our best decision!

Working with Cass was effortless! We cannot say enough great things about her and her assistant. The attention to detail, professionalism, friendly attitude... she had it all. We're also huge with being on time and sticking to a schedule, which she did a great job of. With so many options out there, I know it's usually hard to decide, but from the moment we met her we knew this was going to be a great partnership. Throughout the process Cass was there to give us just what we needed and help keep us organized, which was awesome since we've never done this and well... she has! On the day of the wedding, she was nothing more than a hard-working angel of a human. We felt like we were working with one of our friends, except better because she was actually a professional at her job. You can really tell she loves what she does and is so passionate about the couples she works with. One thing we noticed AFTER the wedding was that during the ceremony, we did not notice her... yet I know she was there, but it was seriously amazing that I didn't notice where she was yet she was able to get all of the important shots. I've heard horror stories of photographers being in the way or too involved, and Cass was NEVER overbearing or aggressive. She simply put, does an immaculate job of capturing the most important moment of a couple’s lives. Lastly, her attention to detail has me in tears, as she remembered that my grandmothers "sign" for being near is a blue jay. During our family photo, a blue jay feather was at my feet and I noticed it, of course making me tear up...she quickly smiled at me, grabbed a photo of it, and let me catch my breath before making sure we got back to photos to stay on track lol... she was truly a magical and irreplaceable part of our wedding day and we are forever grateful to her. Everyone needs Cassondre Mae!
